LeBron Raymone James Sr is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA)

.James is the first NBA player still playing today to reach the $1 billion mark, according to a June 2022 estimate from Forbes.

Prior to being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA Draught, he lived with a variety of family members, friends, neighbours, and his youth football coach. His mother was a 16-year-old single parent.

James has reportedly made more than $430 million in pretax pay throughout the course of his careers with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Forbes estimates that he has made upwards of $900 million (pretax) via projects and endorsement agreements with companies like PepsiCo, Walmart, and Nike.

James has taken equity in brands he works with, such as Beats by Dre and the quickly expanding Blaze Pizza chain, proving that he is more than just a pitchman. This is a key factor in his billionaire status.

2018 saw the opening of the first primary school run by his LeBron James Family Foundation, which has committed to investing more than $40 million in college tuition for children.
