ISRO Begins countdown
for Launch
NVS - 01 Navigation
satellite
Bengaluru:
The Indian Space Exploration Association (ISRO) will send off the route satellite 'NVS-01' locally
available its Geosynchronous Satellite Send off Vehicle (GSLV) from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on
May 29.
The mission is intended to convey the NVS-01 route satellite, weighing 2,232 kilograms, into a
Geosynchronous Exchange Circle (GTO).
"The send off of the GSLV-F12/NVS-01 mission is booked on Monday, May 29 at 10:42 hours IST
from the subsequent platform at Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota," the Bengaluru-settled
public space organization said in a delivery on Monday.
The Bengaluru-settled space organization is undeniably equipped to send off the second-age route
satellite series, a critical send off which would guarantee the congruity of NavIC (Route with Indian
Group of stars) administrations — an Indian territorial satellite route framework, like GPS, giving
precise and continuous route in India and a locale reaching out to 1,500 km around the central area.
NavIC signals are intended to give client position precise to better than 20-meters and timing exactness
better than 50 nanoseconds.
The 51.7 metre tall Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, on its 15th flight, would carry the
navigation satellite NVS-01 weighing 2,232 kg on Monday at 10.42 am from the second launch pad at
the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) here, about 130 km from Chennai.
